We recently had a fabulous trip to Central Australia, from 14th July to 27th July 2012. The first week was spent at Ross River Station, which is 85kms east of Alice Springs, in the East Macdonnell Ranges. Overnight temperatures got down to -3 degrees, but the days were sunny & mild. As long as you are out of the desert wind! There were 17 of us, [artists & photographers] Trip was organised by Cilla Campbell, art teacher from WEA Sydney. Daily trips, informative commentary & delicious campsite meals by Gerry & Corrine of Sandrifter Safaris.
The beauty of this remote area, was inspirational for painting & photography. Without TV, mobiles & computers, it is amazing what you do tune into. And the night skies!!!! This is a glimpse of the many photos & plein air sketches.
